Film Review - VA QUARTER CUTTING

Amazing title which probably would spoil the image of the movie.  But as soon as you complete watching the movie you will agree with the title.  Movie starts with creative titles with animation. The story is in line with the style of narrating the incidents happening in a short duration like "Newton-in Moondraavathu Vidhi".  "Thamizh Padam" fame Siva has done wonderfully well to portray the character, bound to fly to Dubai the next day, spending one full day roaming around Chennai in search of "Quarter Cutting", having come to know that he will not be able to consume liquor in Dubai.  With absolutely no story, credit should be given to the Director for making the movie very interesting with a sequence of comic sequences and dialogues.  Siva follows the style of comedian Santhanam with his subtle comments.  To name a few... "Oru aiyer kitta thayir saadham saapdaathennu sonna... oru sait kitta beeda podathennu sonna...", "antha meen-e ungala vida uyaramaa irukku", "vayasaanavanga saavula en vedi vekkaraanga... oru velai sariyaa saavalainaa vedi sathathula mothama uyir poyidumnu...".  Minor but effective characters like Marthandan (SPB Charan), Prince & King in Prince's Den, Chinna Annan, Periya Thambi, Saraswathi (Lekha Washington, may be a sentimental inclusion after the success of Thamizh Padam) make the movie very interesting.

Uncomplicated simple comedy.  You can watch it just for entertainment.
